29 January 2009: The evening sky.

As the sun starts to set, and the yellow light shines on the silent town, there's only one thing on my mind: time to go home.

Even though I've never left home, I'm not home yet. My dad and grandma have yet to return.

At this time 15 years ago, my parents would have picked me home from kindergarden, and my extended family would be busy getting ready for dinner at the long table. Grandma would be busy cooking, my aunts and mum would be busy setting the table, I would be trying to help. The whole house would come to life.

Now, the house is still. The only sounds to be heard are that of the wind chime and the chirping birds. Where are the people? Where is the life?

Now the only time I look forward to is 11-12 pm, when dad and grandma would return. The yellow light flashes upon like aged memories of the past.
