30 March 2009:
Giving up seats on trains and buses.
I was listening to 987 when I was on the bus on the way home, and Ros was talking about how everyone have equal rights to sit on the trains and buses, and that people shouldn't snap photos of others and give them a 'death sentence' just because they didn't give up their seats to the elderly or pregnant or people with special needs.
I totally agree with her on that point. The person sitting down could be suffering from cramps, or feeling giddy, or the classic menstrual cramps. By snapping a picture of the person without his/her permission, and posting it on stomp, without giving the person a chance to explain is so unfair for him/her. The picture cannot capture how painful is his/her cramps or how the person is trying to stabilize himself/herself to stop the giddiness. The person would be labeled as immoral even though he/she had their reasons for not giving up the seat.
Imagine a young female suffering from menstrual cramps, and has to travel from one end of the line to the other. She would be losing a lot of blood, which might make her feel giddy too. Does she have to give up her seat for a pregnant woman who may be feeling perfectly well? Besides, if the pregnant woman needs a seat badly, and feels that it's dangerous to stand, she should take a cab instead. And perhaps the person sitting down may not explicitly show her pain. It wouldn't occur to anyone that she's actually in a greater need of the seat as compared to the pregnant woman right?
I personally feel that instead of snapping pictures of the person who doesn't give up his/her seat and degrading his/her personality without giving them a chance to explain, why don't these 'righteous' people just kindly inform the person that there is an elderly/pregnant woman who needs a seat? If the person was feeling unwell, he/she would at least have the chance to explain. And if he/she was feeling perfectly well, he/she would feel obliged to give up his/her seat to avoid being scorned at.
The snappers' justifications for shaming these people was to make Singapore a better place, filled with kind and moral people. Doesn't it seem ironic how they are degrading others without giving them a chance to explain when they themselves do not take the initiative to get someone to stand up for the people in need of a seat?
Anyway I'm typing all these because I'm feeling so unjust for the victims of these snappers, not because I have been shamed on Stomp or what. But maybe one day I will be, when it's one of those days of bad menstrual cramps. So perhaps then I have this blog entry to back my stand. But I don't think that's possible because I usually avoid going out when I'm suffering from menstrual cramps.

27 March 2009:
No discipline.
Staying at home feels so shiok. But this feeling won't last long.
I decided to skip both Econs lecture today to do my SSA project. But not only did I not do it, I became so lazy that I decided to skip Bio lecture too. So my day shortened from 10-5 to 4-5.
My attitude towards school is atrocious! I'm so disappointed in myself. Number of Bio lectures attended so far = 2.
Every school day I think of excuses not to go school. This is so different from JC times when I didn't want to miss any lectures or tutorials (except for Lit in 1st 3 months).
I'm getting so sick of everything. I just wanna take a break. When can I take a break from everything, just flop down and do nothing without worries?
|
|
26 March 2009:
Accounts.
Just did some accounting and my net profit for my own business is $869.275.
After this marathon of 21 wallets, I'm seriously considering hiring a helper. But having a helper would be so inconvenient too.
Okay tonight, complete one more wallet and take a break.

25 March 2009:
Bad bad day.
Been so down on my luck today. Left house without a dollar, without a card and only realised when I was on my way to meet Kelly. Dad had to specially deliver money to me. And I just realised close to the closing time of the folder that the Bio assignment was due today 2359. And obviously I couldn't make it on time already. Now I just wish I wouldn't get caught for plagiarism because I googled for the answers.
Confessions of a shopaholic was quite entertaining, but somehow very different from the books, and obviously very cut-short. But I absolutely loved the part when she was dancing with Luke. Laughed my ass off when she did all the retarded dance moves.
Alright it's gonna be a hell of a time from now. Shan't give myself too much pressure so I'm skipping seeing Dr Ong again. Buying some time for myself. Ok Sheena you can survive this!
Lucky my low-batt phone didn't die on me just now.

24 March 2009:
Home into factory.
I've been rushing so many orders these days that I turned my dining area into a factory, with all my materials, tools and parts scattered all over the table and chairs. It's been such a busy week, getting sick, finding a dress, manufacturing, feeling pressured. I really really need a break. Hope no more emails come in. Feels weird but I'm like trying to chase customers away so that I can have more rest and prepare for Saturday, which is super pressuring.
After 4.5 hours of searching for a dress last Sunday, I think I suffer from shopping phobia. We walked in and out and around F21 Topshop and some other shops a thousand times but didn't get any dress eventually.
Tomorrow I'm going to make up lesson with Jwen, as in make up for the tutorial that we missed, and movie with Kelly. Gotta get a few stuffs while outside too.
Thursday MUST see Dr Ong, meet up with Germ, and go for Bio lab. Friday lessons all the way. Saturday is the big day. Sunday got a meeting with cousins. Busy bee!

21 March 2009:
Worth the wait.
Wooh my VS bikini and free tote bag arrived in the mail today! The tote bag is super pretty! And I have 2 of it. Gonna put one up for sale. :)
Anyway yesterday had been a torture. Woke up feeling very sick with a runny nose and sore throat. Halfway through lecture menstrual cramps came. Thanks to Jwen and her acupuncture, it didn't get so bad.
Alright time to get busy.

20 March 2009:
Online shop renovation.
Even though I said bye to Jwen and the rest on msn, I still decided to blog before I sleep because I'm so satisfied with the new layout of our shop. This 'renovation' wasn't planned, but it turned out so well.
As I was telling Jwen when she was adjusting the size of the images, it feels just like renovating a real life shop, and helping her to see if she put up the picture straight. She even did some 'floor plans' for the shop.
Anyway I'm quite excited because the next collection is going to be better! Victoria's Secret inspired + Military style.
Today had been a crazy day for me, starting at the polyclinic, then at the supplier's, then running all the way out to take cab and up the stairs just to look at cells for 30 mins, and the few hours of renovation, to the struggle to swallow 2 huge pills in 8 mouths a few minutes ago. Drowsiness taking effect pretty fast.

18 March 2009:
Spendthrift.
Shopping again! Really can't resist it.
Spent another $37.68 on these. But it'll last forever! And it's so basic. And it's time I add more to my wardrobe, even though I'm constantly adding more. Just trying to make myself feel better. But this feeling of having bought them beats the desire of having them.
Okay gotta complete at least 10 orders by today! 6 almost done! Alright after this crazy batch I'll take a week's break. No advertising.
I'm so happy today! My 1st collection (Jwen's 2nd) manage to reap profits, even though not much, in less than a week! Gonna meet new supplier on Saturday. Hope all turn out good! Selling apparels is so much easier than selling wallets.
I over-boiled the soup when I was doing my accounts and talking to Jwen on the phone. Who says females can multi-task?
Orders are flooding my hat. When I completed 3, another 2 came in. My hat's too small to store all that money. Need to spend it somewhere! Shall buy bus and mrt concession with it. Or save it for my next visit to Dr Ong, or pay for my MC, or my Bio textbook.

17 March 2009:
Temptation.
I just couldn't resist the temptation. I spent $74.80 at one go buying 3 basics.

I know it's not really worth it, because I can get similar items elsewhere. But it's F21! Why torture myself by restricting me from shopping? I still need clothes to sustain me through uni. There's nothing wrong with spending $74.80 on clothes that I can wear forever. And I should reward myself for earning $200 in 4 days! What's the point of earning when you can't spend?
For my F21 items, I will work hard! And will work harder for more F21. :) Give me strength!
Can't wait for them to arrive! Hopefully 2 weeks or less. Excited!
|
|
16 March 2009:
Should I?

$43. Should I get it? Hoodies are comfort clothes, they give you warmth, and makes dressing easy. They are huggable and they will really grow into me. I feel safe when I'm with my hoodie.
But there's no suitable F21 spree to join! :(
And I need more shorts for school.

I just earned $130. And it doesn't cover my past expenses. Spending $100 on clothes don't really make me feel good.
|
|
13 March 2009:
Confused.
Sheena be strong. What's done is done. You can get over this. You'll get used to it. Don't hurt anyone anymore. You made a decision, stick to it. I know it's tough but you'll survive this bumpy road.
Look forward.

12 March 2009:
Sick streak.
I skipped school again today. After rushing my launch, doing all the stuffs I needed to do and rushed an order, my body finally gave up on me again. I really wonder why have I become so weak. I get worried that one day I might faint on the road or vomit on the bus.
Maybe it's brain imbalance again because I keep stuffing my brain with information during the recess week, and my shrunken brain (not used for months) was unable to cope with the sudden increase in information load.
Anyway I wasted $9.70 on taxi, and 50 minutes of waiting, only to find out that the doctor would not be in. Feel so cheated.
|
|
11 March 2009:
Dead broke.
Super broke. Broke as a pauper. Bleak future.
Alright I'm just saying all these because I'm totally worn out from digging for 5+ hours.
There will be a way out. There must be.
|
|
09 March 2009:
Giddy spells.
I feel like I'm gonna throw up anytime. Being sick isn't fun at all. Especially when there's no one to take care of me.
Lucky for me, when I alighted the bus, dad was in the vicinity. Alright I thought a sort nap made me feel better but I still feel like throwing up. Maybe I'll feel better after I do so.

06 March 2009:
Shagged.
Finally reached the end of the mid-terms. Actually it doesn't make much difference if I studied. Brain feels so saturated. Time for a good rest.

04 March 2009:
Nostalgia.
I realised I'm blogging so much today. But it's ok. I need to let my thoughts out.
The evening always makes people feel nostalgic. But I will get through this every evening. I will survive. I have to. Even if I'm all alone, my family will be with me at night. My mum will be here with me all the time. She'll watch over me and give me strength no matter what happens.

My dearest H button.

I am fortunate.
Looking at the clothes lying on the window still, having breakfast made my grandma, reminds me of how much my family means to me. To be able to drink tea made by my grandma is a kind of happiness. How I wish there would be no end to this.
I like sitting at the dining table knowing my grandma is busy in the kitchen. I like knowing my family is always here.
From now on, these are the things I'd like to do: 1. Spend more time with my family 2. Mug hard 3. Go out with my friends 4. Learn new skills 5. Get a steady income
I'm determined to make the best out of my life from now on. I don't want to waste this life given to my by my parents.
