29 April 2009:
5 days 16 hours 37 minutes 56 seconds.
"Anyway dont be demoralised you still have more to mug ha"
The best kind of encouragement I ever heard. It just made this journey seem longer.
Okay let me check my countdown widget. 5 days 16 hours 37 minutes 56 seconds to the long awaited holiday. Alright plus another 6 minutes since my laptop is 6 minutes fast. Can't wait for a good dinner with my family, and the 3 days 3 nights sleep to recharge my hp.
I want to get a cool job! Like private investigator, dolphin trainer, shark feeder, sommelier (even though I know nuts about wine), mystery shopper etc. Any job lobangs?
LV is looking for part-time sales staff. But LV? I prefer Kate Spade.
P.S. I can't believe my arm muscle is aching from carrying my Bio textbook yesterday. Damn weak la! Must exercise. P.P.S. Or maybe it's the bubble form shading. Or the notes flipping.

LSM1301.
First paper of this semester is so screwed. Cells, proteins, golgi apparatus, and everything, I hate you!
Thank goodness for the heavy rain just now, I manage to spend a few moments with Spotty! That hyper-active dog was still the same old him, licking and pouncing on my legs, asking me to scratch him. And stubbornly sat at the door, trying to get away from being locked in the kitchen. Cute little boy! Spotty you made my day! :D
It's so hard trying to take a picture of him, much less a good one. He just won't stay still even for a few seconds!

27 April 2009:
Happy Birthday!
20 years ago, I met the world for the first time, brought to earth by the most beautiful lady. It was that moment when she committed herself to giving me the best. She was always there for me, guiding me through life's ups and downs, and will still continue being there for me.
I really look forward to the end of this race, even if it marks the end of my life, because I really miss her. I know she's waiting with her welcoming arms wide open for me at the finishing line. Nonetheless, I still have to continue running this race with my family and friends. Even when she was struggling, fighting for her last few moments of her life, she never failed to pull me onto the shorter track. I really should cherish this chance.
All my life I've been running as best as I could, just to see the smile on her face. But ever since she left, I've also been struggling on my own when I cannot find that familiar smiling face. I get lost and confused in the crowd.
Last night she told me: "Don't stop here. I'm close behind. Do your best to complete this race. It doesn't matter how well you did, as long as you did your best. I'm proud of you."
Of course, those things that she said to me are purely imaginary. But mothers and daughters do live in each other don't they?
Can I, on your behalf, buy myself a birthday present? Maybe a Kate Spade wallet? No! Alright then, I'll just get myself some useful clothes for school. Is that ok? :)
Happy Birthday Sheena!
----------
A big thanks to all my friends, relatives and strangers who wished me a happy birthday.
Wee yang kor kor was the earliest, wished me on Friday. HC was the earliest on the actual day. Jwen was the mad one who wished me everywhere. Daniel was the one closest to my birth time.
And a big thanks to all the pollen grains, xylem, phloem, ground and dermal tissues, casparian strips, the epithelial, connective, muscle and nerve tissues, DNAs, RNAs, and not forgetting you, polymerase, lactose, ribosomes and many more, for spending my birthday with me. Love you all!

Coffee for me?
I feel like a zombie right now. My eyelids feel so heavy. My eyes are so small that I can be blindfolded by a rubber band.
9 days to go! It's quite torturous seeing friends ending their exams already, or have some papers down. I haven't even took one paper yet! This feels like the longest sianest 9 days ever!
I REALLY ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT FOR IT TO END!
I'll sleep for 3 days 3 nights after that.

26 April 2009:
Hi Mr. Williamson!
EC2102 Lecture 6; 18, 20 Feb 2009 1 Examples Williamson Goes Through: 1. Equilibrium effects of an increase in government expenditures today G1 2. Equilibrium effects of a persistent increase in government expenditures 3. Equilibrium effects of a decrease in current capital stock K1 4. Equilibrium effects of an increase in current TFP z1 5. Equilibrium effects of an increase in future TFP, say z2 6. Sectoral shock
(Tan, 2009, EC2102 Lecture 6 Slide 1) I always thought Williamson was a kind of graph. Like: Williamson goes through a rightward shift of the Yd1 curve due to an increase in G1.
Turns out he's the author of Macroeconomics (Third Edition).

23 April 2009:
Information overload.
Going crazy with the information overload. Time for my overworked brain to take a break. I still want that Kate Spade wallet, even though a few hours ago I was telling myself that it's so not worth it. My heart will ache more than it will rejoice. Will it? Shit why am I even trying to convince myself to buy it?
I'm so looking forward to the end of these 13 days. No school, no mugging, no guilt. For these 13 days I have to chiong!
But chionging starts with a good rest! And bio lectures about gene regulation in prokaryotes would be a good, productive bedtime story.
|
|
Time-maximizing.
Now it's my break period so I'm blogging. It feels so healthy waking up at 7am to mug, as compared to 2pm yesterday. It feels like I have more time on hand too.
I started planning my daily timetable last night and am determined to stick to it, even if it means putting the alarm clock in the corner at the other side of the room, under a note to myself saying: Go study NOW!
A healthy lifestyle feels great, and I'm planning to start jogging every morning, after I find/buy my running shoes. I want to be more active in sports!
Alright time to get some healthy breakfast for my growling stomach.
Amidst everything, I hear her say: "Do your best, Sheena. I believe in you." Don't you worry now, Mummy. You gave me this chance, I will not let it go to waste.

21 April 2009:
A toast to life's complexity!
It's quite fun digging up memories from archives, seeing how much I've grown. From the mugger wannabe, who writes essays about why global warming is not that big an issue, about inflation in hell or heaven, about cannibalism in polar bears, about why gavin=gayvin, who types about childish things in childish ways, to a slacker bimbo who talks about nothing other than online shopping.
It's nice to see me enjoying the times in MJ, mugging with friends, playing dai dee even when the exams are nearing, going WWW with the Taking Off My PJ gang. I really look forward to meeting them soon for our birthdays celebration, working during the holidays with Yaq. Cant wait for these 15 days to be over!

Library @ Esplanade.
Today I was supposed to be studying with Kelly at the Library @ Esplanade, but we ended up msn-ing, facebook-ing, watching thai commercials and photo booth pranks, listening to songs, and worst of all, SHOPPING! God! How can I ever commit such a crime?
So alright I wasted one mugging day. And I also dropped my laptop while walking to the bus stop. Dropped from my arms, straight to the ground. I was so worried that my aged laptop wouldn't survive this fatal blow. But I had to wait till I get to the Esplanade and find a plug before ascertaining if it was still alive. The whole time I couldn't think of anything other than my laptop. But luckily it's still alive, may not be kicking but at least still alive. This made me realise how important my laptop is to me. I can't ever survive without it. Laptop I need you! You'll always be a part of me, I'm a part of you indefinitely.

11 April 2009:
To laugh or to cry?
When I got to know my grade for NM, I was so agitated because they said I was late by more than 10 minutes. So I emailed the tutor and confronted my group leader.
I was feeling so unjust, so pissed, so worked up, when I realised that actually it was my mistake all along. I thought the tutorial was 4pm, when it was actually 3pm.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at my own stupidity.

09 April 2009:
I found my motivation!
Went to marina bay last night to enjoy the night scene and the gentle breeze. I found my motivation again. The motivation which I lost years ago. I want to work in an office with the perfect view of the Singapore River. I want to get an apartment in the six-star condominium THE SAIL. I want to get a yacht so dad can bring us out to sea. I really should work hard towards this goal of mine.
And that starts with a cuppa coffee and some fried doughsticks to start my day (even though it's 1.32pm now). Get my busy life going!

08 April 2009:
When my hands get itchy.
I suddenly have this urge to snip off my hair, cut it short like shoulder length short. Yet I don't bear to chop off the long hair I kept for years. If I cut it short, it would take years to grow back.
For: 1. New look, new style 2. Use less shampoo and conditioner
Against: 1. If I regret, there's no turning back 2. Harder to manage when the hair grows longer than shoulder length and curls = more frequent trimmings 3. I will miss my hair
How should I weigh them? Should I take this risk?

02 April 2009:
She's our saviour.
Okay I just got home from a car accident. It was really lucky no one was hurt. And we really have to thank Adeline's dream.
It all fell in place so nicely, which makes things very freaky. It goes like this:
This morning, Adeline dreamt of her and Angel in the car. Angel was the driver then. Then as they were talking, Angel didn't watch the road and crashed into the wall. The next thing she remember was Angel lying flat on the ground, facing upwards.
When she woke up, she was so worried because that dream was stuck in her head, and she still felt the impact after she woke up. So she messaged Angel to remind her to drive carefully.
Evening came, and we were supposed to meet at vivo. On the way to vivo, Angel saw a car accident, and the casualty was lying flat on the ground, facing up.
When we were having dinner, she told everyone about the car accident that she saw. Adeline was dazed, and told us about her dream.
At about 10, we got into Angel's car at the basement carpark. Adeline didn't want to sit in the front, for fear that her dream might come true. So we sat at the back, and Meihui was in front with Angel. Shortly after leaving the parking lot, we were discussing about the bday celebration and Angel didn't notice a red Peugeot approaching. By the time she did, it was too late to brake. Then it all happened. The cars crashed.
It was hard to tell who was at fault, because the red Peugeot was supposed to stop at the stop line, but the scratches on her car was towards the back. The Peugeot accelerated when she saw us coming, and Angel turned right to try to avoid crashing.
Angel's bumper was damaged, the car plate dropped off, and the H logo flew all the way to the other side of the Peugeot. We were all in a state of shock when it first happened. It was lucky that we tried to minimize the damage. Lucky no one was hurt. Even minutes after the accident, we were still trembling, and our hearts pumping quite quickly. Angel's friend then came and drove us home since we were all not in the state to drive.
After this accident I really felt like Adeline's dream was a warning to us. Like someone was there watching us, protecting us. It felt like she was given the responsibility to protect us. I don't know if I'm being superstitious or what but anyway, after recalling about everything that happened, I'm starting to cry. And am crying now. Feels quite traumatizing now.

Born to wait.
For 2 times in a row, I have been foolishly waiting outside the clinic for Dr Ong. Today was worse. I was the only one there. After 40+ minutes I realized that the schedule has been changed and another doctor was on duty. Grrr. I promise myself in future I will make sure I call the clinic the night before.
Anyway MWC will be updating tomorrow night! I took one dress for myself. :)
Alright the last Bio lab later, and shopping with Angeline for grandma's bday party deco! This year's bday celebration will be a big bang. BBQ, buffet, games, chalet. Hope it'll be memorable.
I feel quite happy putting in effort to contribute to the preparation. Since Mummy's not around to take care of grandma anymore, the responsibility now falls on me. And grandma has always been very nice to me and Matt ever since Mummy's gone. We ought to do something for her in return. I don't want to regret when it's too late. Bless her with good health.
After today, 5 more days of school!
