27 April 2009:
Happy Birthday!
20 years ago, I met the world for the first time, brought to earth by the most beautiful lady. It was that moment when she committed herself to giving me the best. She was always there for me, guiding me through life's ups and downs, and will still continue being there for me.
I really look forward to the end of this race, even if it marks the end of my life, because I really miss her. I know she's waiting with her welcoming arms wide open for me at the finishing line. Nonetheless, I still have to continue running this race with my family and friends. Even when she was struggling, fighting for her last few moments of her life, she never failed to pull me onto the shorter track. I really should cherish this chance.
All my life I've been running as best as I could, just to see the smile on her face. But ever since she left, I've also been struggling on my own when I cannot find that familiar smiling face. I get lost and confused in the crowd.
Last night she told me: "Don't stop here. I'm close behind. Do your best to complete this race. It doesn't matter how well you did, as long as you did your best. I'm proud of you."
Of course, those things that she said to me are purely imaginary. But mothers and daughters do live in each other don't they?
Can I, on your behalf, buy myself a birthday present? Maybe a Kate Spade wallet? No! Alright then, I'll just get myself some useful clothes for school. Is that ok? :)
Happy Birthday Sheena!
----------
A big thanks to all my friends, relatives and strangers who wished me a happy birthday.
Wee yang kor kor was the earliest, wished me on Friday. HC was the earliest on the actual day. Jwen was the mad one who wished me everywhere. Daniel was the one closest to my birth time.
And a big thanks to all the pollen grains, xylem, phloem, ground and dermal tissues, casparian strips, the epithelial, connective, muscle and nerve tissues, DNAs, RNAs, and not forgetting you, polymerase, lactose, ribosomes and many more, for spending my birthday with me. Love you all!

Coffee for me?
Hi Mr. Williamson!
My sister is the best.
Yes you did it.
Information overload.
Time-maximizing.
A toast to life's complexity!
I need it!
A short getaway!
